Doug’s Famous Grilled Barbecue Pork Ribs

I love, love, love Doug’s Famous Grilled Barbecue Pork Ribs. The idea of using a grill can seem daunting, but grilling pork ribs is actually very easy.

Cooking Slow and Low:

Cooking ribs is an art. Doug has mastered it. His key tips were to us indirect heat when grilling the ribs where you cook the ribs on the cooler side of the grill away from the direct flames. You don’t want to overcook the ribs because they can easily dry out. Slow and low cooking on the grill easily traps in the flavors while keeping the ribs moist and juicy. Use a thermometer to make sure the internal temperature of the ribs are at 198°F to make sure they are completely cooked.

What to Eat the Ribs With?

There are so many options to pair ribs with. Some of my fav combos are including a carb/starch and a vegetable for a complete meal. Options are:

Red Cabbage and Carrot Slaw

Crunchy Ramen Cabbage Salad

Instant Pot Refried Beans

5-Bean Baked Chili

Baked Sweet Potato Fries

What Grill We Use:

We use the Weber Spirit S-315 Liquid Propane Gas Stainless Steel Grill because it heats up quickly. It’s easy to clean. It has a lot of space to keep the food warm and away from the direct heat if needed. And the grill has a cool fuel gage so you know how much gas you have left.

What Barbecue Sauce to Use:

We’ve tasted many of them and even had a Backyard BBQ Party where we did a blind taste testing of 6 different barbecue sauces and had people rate their faves. Some of the favorites that you can find in most stores include:

Stubb’s Original Barbecue Sauce
Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce
Kinder’s Barbecue Sauce
Bull’s Eye Barbecue Sauce
