Pitas can be used for multiple purposes. I’ve used pitas for snacks, pitas for sandwiches, and pitas as chips. Here are some ideas on how to use the pita in different ways to provide your kids with an amazing after school snack.

#1. Peanut Butter & Strawberry Delight: This pita snack is well balanced using heart-healthy peanut butter & sunflower seeds and Vitamin-C packed strawberries. Cut the pita in half. Add ½ Tbsp of peanut butter to each pita half. Slice 1 strawberry for each pita half. Last of all, sprinkle in a few sunflower seeds to each pita half. You get a crunchy sweet snack!

#2. Apple, Almond Butter, Banana, Peach Pockets: You’ve got a medley of fruit in this pita bliss. Cut the pita in half. Slice up 1 apple into skinny slices, 1 peach, and 1 banana. Put ½ Tbsp of almond butter (or peanut butter) inside each pita half. Fill each pita with 2 slices of apple, 2 slices of peach, and 3 slices of banana. You’ve got a vitamin-rich, savory fruit pocket.

#3. Pita Chips: You can make your own pita chips. It’s fast, simple, and a 5-year old can make them! Click for the video with Kids Cooking In The Kitchen with Lilliana. She’ll show you how to make the chips.
