Marinade for Kebabs for Chicken or Steak
This tried and true recipe from my Grandpa always brings back wonderful memories. You can omit the brandy if you are marinating just tofu & vegetables. The marinade is in our family’s Croatian cookbook because Croatians do love their grapes & grape-based drinks! Whenever I make this recipe, I always think of all the times my entire family spent together because we’re always drinking some type of brandy or wine. Cooking with it, too, just makes so much sense. This marinade is an all-time favorite with all my guests!

Recipe type: Entree, Grill
- 8 ounce soy sauce
- 6 ounce water
- 4 ounce brandy, bourbon or beer
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon ginger powder
- 2 crushed garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 lbs Chicken or Top round steak, 1 inch thick
- Combine all ingredients.
- Marinade for 4-8 hours. Bar-B-Que to cook.
