5 Anti-Aging Smoothies To Make Your Skin Look Younger

What you eat matters to your health. And there are definitely certain foods that are age-defying by improving cell growth and preventing cell damage. I’m always looking for natural ways to be “wrinkle free” and protect my skin. Food is a great tool for this so I developed 5 anti-aging smoothies to make your skin look younger and glow.

The smoothies include anti-aging nutrients such as Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Beta-Carotene, Omega-3s, and Polyphenols. In addition to this quick list of 5 anti-aging smoothies to make your skin look younger, I compiled a whole bunch of smoothies into my latest book: 25 Anti-Aging Smoothies for Revitalizing, Glowing Skin
Get the book and start to make more smoothies to enhance your skin and rejuvenate your soul.

  1. Vitamin E helps the skin retain moisture and protects it from the harmful effects of free radicals.

1 cup of unsweetened almond milk (vitamin E)

Directions:
Put everything in a blender. Blend and pour.

  1. Vitamin C improves cell growth and one study even suggested a diet high in vitamin C can result in fewer wrinkles. Vitamin C also helps regenerate other vitamins in the body like Vitamin E.

BlueberryBreeze

Blueberry Breeze

Ingredients:
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries (vitamin C)
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries (vitamin C)
1 cup coconut water
1 Tablespoon lemon juice (vitamin C)
1 teaspoon chia seeds

Directions:
Put everything in a blender. Blend and pour.

  1. Beta-Carotene, a carotenoid antioxidant, protects cells from damage and assists with better eyesight, too.

CarrotKaleSmoothie

Carrot & Kale Power Smoothie

Ingredients:
1 cup kale (only take the leaf part and leave out the stem) (beta-carotene)
1 carrot (chopped) (beta-carotene)
1 green apple (core removed and chopped)
Lemon juice from 1 lemon or 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup coconut water

Directions:
Put everything in a blender. Blend and pour.

  1. Omega-3: As we age, our skin loses its moisture and elasticity which causes more wrinkles. Omega-3s have been found to provide the skin with more moisture by keeping the cells of the epidermis (our top layer of skin) plump and hydrated.

How often do you drink these smoothies and do you rotate them or just pick one

    • Sarah Koszyk, MA, RDN March 16, 2016 at 3:28 pm - Reply

I like to rotate my smoothies so I don’t get bored. To make my shopping list simple, I’ll make the same smoothie for 3 days in a row. After I’m done using up the ingredients, I’ll choose another smoothie and rotate it. I drink 1 smoothie a day on average. Sometimes 2 when I’m rushing around and don’t have time to cook a meal 🙂 Life gets busy!
