For a healthier, easy dessert with only 2 ingredients, frozen chocolate covered bananas are absolutely delicious. The total active time is a fast 20 minutes. A big tip is to really melt the chocolate so it is smooth and easy to dip with the banana. You can use this recipe to substitute any fruit of choice from strawberries to blueberries to apricots and more. Ingredients
  • 6 medium ripe and firm bananas
  • 8 ounces quality dark chocolate (60-70% dark chocolate)
  • Toppings of choice like chopped nuts, sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, etc (optional)
Instructions
  1. Peel and cut each banana in half crosswise. Place on a tray, cover with plastic wrap and put in the freezer for 3 hours.
  2. Using a double boiler, simmer water in the bottom pan. Place the chocolate in the top pan and melt. Stir often and make sure the chocolate is smooth.
  3. Pour the chocolate into a glass. Dip the frozen banana into the chocolate. Quickly sprinkle or roll the chocolate covered banana in a topping if using.
  4. Wrap with wax paper then seal in a Ziploc bag. Place in the freezer and freeze for 1 hour and up to 2 weeks.
