Father’s Day is coming up and my husband is the quintessential “meat and potatoes” kind of guy. Yes – I love making gourmet, foodie-type food by taking the classic “meat and potatoes” meal to another level. These recipes contain the basics with just enough extra twist to satisfy everyone’s palate. Get ready to celebrate this special day with the Perfect Father’s Day Feast for all the meat and potato lovers out there. This menu is delicious, nutritious, easy, and classic.

Grandpa’s Brandy Steak Marinade
Father’s Day wouldn’t be the same without my Grandpa representing in some way, shape, or form. Here is his classic brandy marinade perfect for skirt steak, flank steak, or top round steak. Marinate the meat overnight. The next day, put it on the grill for some fast cooking.

Cheesy Mashed Potatoes

These mashed potatoes are made with Parmesan cheese and cottage cheese so there is protein included without a lot of added fat. Parmesan cheese is a leaner cheese and the cottage cheese is fat free. Lots of love with minimal guilt.

Oven Roasted Asparagus and Squash
Asparagus is in season and it is yummy. This colorful dish full of green, yellow, and white is bursting with flavor from the herbs and seasonings. Simply stick it in the oven while you cook the potatoes, grill the steak, and toss the salad.

Dijon Mustard Salad Dressing
Complete the feast with a salad on the side. Toss your favorite salad fixings, such as lettuce, tomatoes, beets, shredded carrots, avocado, and almonds, with this classic Dijon mustard salad dressing. It’s a fan favorite in our home.

Dessert time??? Of course!

Depending on what sweet delight your Father, Husband, Brother, Nephew, Cousin, Uncle, Grandfather, or Friend prefers, here are 2 options:

Ice Cream Cake
or Homemade Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
Both desserts are incredibly rich and not too hard to make. I’m not a baker and I easily made the carrot cake from scratch. The ice cream cake is an all-time favorite. We eat it on special events (like this) and my birthday.

Have a wonderful Father’s Day celebration and enjoy your loved ones.
